Check out what the oddsmakers think about the Panthers this week
The 1-5 Carolina Panthers are unsurprising underdogs on the road this weekend against the Washington Commanders. That means you can once again risk it all on your favorite team—or, as should be more likely, bet against them.
The Panthers showed some signs of life again this afternoon against the NFC-South-leading Atlanta Falcons. A fourth quarter interception took all the wind out of their sails, but hey, look, there were sails to have wind in them. That’s a step forward.
Meanwhile, the Commanders are enjoying a surprisingly good season behind the budding talent of rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. He is giving Washington the same storybook treatment that the Houston Texans received last year. Other teams are continuing to underscore the value of hitting on a rookie quarterback in the first round of the NFL Draft. That underscoring should continue against the Panthers this week. Take a look:
Week 7
Spread
Panthers: +8.5
Commanders: -8.5
O/U
50.5
Moneyline
Falcons: -210
Panthers: +176
Remember that home-field advantage is traditionally accounted for by spotting the home team—the Commanders, in this case—three points on the spread. That means the Commanders would be favored by about six points on a neutral field.
