Check out what the oddsmakers think about the Panthers this week
The 1-3 Carolina Panthers are back on the road this weekend against the 2-2 Chicago Bears. That means you can once again risk it all on your favorite team—or, as should be more likely, bet against them.
A fun, if ultimately losing, effort against the Cincinnati Bengals could be overshadowed this week by injury news as it rolls out. Damien Lewis and Shaq Thompson could both end up on injured reserve before the week is out, joining Derrick Brown and Adam Thielen.
For now, however, two straight impressive performances by Andy Dalton have FanDuel uncertain of how to assess the Panthers. Playing today without Lewis or Thielen, he still managed to keep the offense moving and threw some impressive touchdown strikes. That has this week’s opening lines as basically a toss up. Take a look:
Week 5
Spread
Panthers: +3.5
Bears: -3.5
O/U
42.5
Moneyline
Panthers: +168
Bears: -200
Remember that home-field advantage is traditionally accounted for by spotting the home team—the Bears, in this case—three points on the spread. That means the Bears would be favored by less than a point on a neutral field.
