Check out what the oddsmakers think about the Panthers this week
The Carolina Panthers are back in action at home this weekend against the Cincinnati Bengals. That means you can once again risk it all on your favorite team—or, as should be more likely, bet against them.
It takes more than one win against the Las Vegas Raiders to change your reputation and the Panthers are not expected to get another one on Sunday. The Bengals, helmed by Joe Burrow, are expected to once again compete for the AFC. The Raiders are expected to draft a quarterback high in the 2025 NFL Draft.
It doesn’t matter how good Andy Dalton looked against the Raiders, it will take an equivalent performance against the Bengals to make the odds makers take notice. Take a look:
Week 4
Spread
Bengals: -5.5
Panthers: +5.5
O/U
44.5
Moneyline
Bengals: -260
Panthers: +215
Remember that home-field advantage is traditionally accounted for by spotting the home team—the Panthers, in this case—three points on the spread. That means the Bengalss would be favored by over a touchdown on a neutral field.
A lot of this comes from distrust after only one offensively successful game. A lot comes from a consistently poor pass rush. The Panthers may yet prove that Canales can run an offense, but that won’t matter against the class of the league until he can field a whole team.
