It’s deja vu again for UNC football, as it appears the team is going through a losing streak for a third straight season that will determine if the season is a success or not. In 2022, UNC was 9-1, before losing four straight games to finish the season at 9-5. Last season, the Tar Heels started the season 6-0, and entered the top 10 in the polls, before a 2-5 finish to the season, left Tar Heel fans conflicted about the future of the program under Mack Brown.
This season, the Tar Heels raced off to a 3-0 start, with a manageable schedule ahead of them, and the opportunity to capitalize on failures from the past couple of seasons. Instead, they got blown out at home by James Madison, a Group of 5 school, 70-50, and last week, they blew a 20-0 lead to Duke, and lost the Battle for the Victory Bell for the first time since 2018, leaving the team at 3-2, and in another in-season tailspin.
