Kendrick Lamar famously rapped on his Drake diss record, “I’m Terence Crawford, yeah, I’m whoopin’ feet.” It seems he’s either prophetic, or the UFC broadcast team took him literally.
Terence Crawford wasn’t fighting last night but became the subject of conversation on social media after an egregious blunder.
During the UFC 306 Pay-Per-View broadcast, the professional boxer was mistaken for Kendrick Lamar. The chyron under him also labeled him as Drake’s boogeyman, and the broadcast crew also called him the West Coast rapper, thinking he indeed popped out at the latest UFC event.
Crawford took the moment in stride, responding on his Instagram stories.

After the event, Dana White responded to a question asking him if he expected to get a text from Kendrick Lamar or Terence Crawford following the gaff his company made during the production.
“I don’t know who the hell did that. That was pretty bad. He did kinda look like Kendrick Lamar though let’s not f**k around,” White said while laughing. “He kinda did look like Kendrick Lamar.”

While White thought the moment was funny, X, specifically the Black subsection of the platform, didn’t think there was anything to laugh about and was quick to tell the UFC owner, “No, we all don’t look alike.”
“Lmfao he doesn’t realize how racist he sounds with this comment,” one person wrote on X.
Another person wrote, “How the hell do you mistake Terence Crawford for Kendrick Lamar smh…and of course Dana White is one of those people that think all Black people look alike.”
All fair points.
