Welcome back to holiday football
Thanksgiving football returns to give us all an excuse to not talk to our families with a full slate of games from noon thirty through the end of the day. The Chicago Bears are visiting the Detroit Lions at 12:30 PM ET on CBS, the New York Giants are visiting the Dallas Cowboys at 4:30 PM ET on Fox, and the Miami Dolphins are in Wisconsin to play the Green Bay Packers at 8:20 PM ET on NBC and Peacock.
As always in our brave new world of expansive sports gambling, it is now easier to bet on games than to watch them. You can catch current odds on all NFL games for Week 13 here on FanDuel.
As for the games today, we have a lopsided opening, a pair of evenly matched cellar dwellers in the middle, and an intriguing evening match to close the game. The 10-1 Lions are the obvious pick at home to start the day, followed by the Cowboys at home against a team that lost to the Carolina Panthers in the afternoon.
The real intriguing match up is the evening slot with the Dolphins visiting the Packers. On the one hand, Miami is traditionally terrible in the cold. On the other, Tua Tagavailoa has been heating up since he returned from another concussion induced stint on injured reserve. I’d love to pick the Dolphins here, but their history in outdoor cold games is too much to take them over the home team, which means I’d take the Packers here as well.
As always, use this space to talk about the action as it unfolds.
You know the drill.
