Steve Smith Recaps The Panthers Rough Week 1 Outing

The Panthers started their 30th season in the NFL with a horrendous performance falling to the New Orleans Saints on the road by a score of 47-10. Former Panthers great turned NFL Network analyst Steve Smith joined Kyle Bailey to break down all that went wrong in the Big Easy.

The main concern from the Panthers loss surrounded QB Bryce Young as he threw 2 picks in the loss and had a QB rating of 32.8. When asked about his concern level in the former #1 overall pick and mindset as Steve told Kyle that he is and isn’t concerned at the same time, as he noted Bryce played poorly, but at the same time he wasn’t solely responsible for allowing 47 points. Steve then pointed out that not playing in the preseason likely was a factor and Bryce needs to realize no one but him can save himself with better play.

 

Steve would go on to react to the Derrick Brown injury news as well as the reason behind multiple offenses struggling in week 1.
