The 2024 season for the South Carolina Gamecocks has been quite a ride as they just fell short of the first 12-team playoff, and have a chance to win games in a season for the first time in over a decade. Gamecocks HC Shane Beamer joined Kyle Bailey as he reflected on the season while previewing the Gamecocks matchup against Illinois in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl.
Shane was asked about how important it would be to cross the 10-win mark in the Cheez-It Bowl and he told Kyle that it would be huge, Illinois is trying to accomplish the same feat, but Shane knows his players are motivated to get the job done and to carry some big momentum heading into 2025.
The conversation with Coach Beamer also touched on the biggest lessons from the first year of the 12-team playoff, as well as his former college teammate Michael Vick joining the college coaching ranks as well.
