While general optimism escapes the fan base, they at least support the coach’s most recent decision.
Carolina Panthers fans managed to find a little bit of optimism heading into the first season with head coach Dave Canales at the helm. It only took one week to zap most of that confidence, and a second disastrous week reinforced fan pessimism. With all that transpired, Canales elected to make a change at quarterback, which sent the media world into a frenzy. While there was a wide range of takes about the decision from national pundits, Panthers fans are pretty unanimous in their belief that it was the right call.
90% of Panthers fans think it was the right call to send Bryce Young to the bench. Among the few that thought the team should continue to ride it out with Young, there were some voters that still thought Dalton would play better.
Despite the support of the head coach’s decision to bench the quarterback, fans still aren’t sold on the direction of the franchise. It’s an understandable position. The team was the laughingstock of the NFL last year and managed to be even worse through the first two games of this season.
Only 33% of fans are confident in the team’s direction, but that’s up 16% from last week. Progress, baby!
