MUNICH, GER. (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — Former Panther Graham Gano, in his first game since getting injured in Week 2, made a 42-yard field goal to send the game to overtime. But it was former Giant Ashawn Robinson who forced a fumble on the first play to give the Panthers the ball on the Giants’ 23-yard line. Three plays later Eddy Pineiro made a 36-yard field goal to give Carolina its second straight win.
The Panthers improve to 3-7 after getting back-to-back wins for the first time since Weeks 13 and 14 in 2022. The Giants fall to 2-8 after losing its fifth straight game.
The Panthers were able to move the ball really well in the first quarter. They had 156 total yards and 10 points after a field goal on the first play of the second quarter. Bryce Young in the first half went 10/16 with 94 yards and a touchdown to Ja’Tavion Sanders. Hubbard continues to prove he’s worth what the Panthers paid him, averaging 7.8 yards per carry in the first two quarters.
The Giants were moving the ball in the end of the half but Clowney tipped a pass which led to an interception by Xavier Woods to keep them from scoring. The Panthers took a 10-0 lead into halftime.
Carolina’s passing game was slowed down in the 2nd half as Bryce Young only finished with 126 passing yards. But when Hubbard plays like he did on Sunday, you can afford to go without a strong passing attack. He finished with a career-high 153 rushing yards on 28 attempts and a touchdown.
Both the Giants and Panthers have bye weeks in Week 11. In Week 12, The Giants play the Buccaneers in New York and the Panthers host the defending Super Bowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs.
