With the 4th of July behind us, sports fans everywhere are gearing up for the football season, which isn’t as far away as it currently seems. Next week the SEC will conduct their annual media days, the week after the ACC takes center stage, the Big 12 has already released its preseason media poll, and before we know it, Heisman odds will be all over the place. With that in mind, it’s not really talking season until Phil Steele, the author of the Phil Steele college football magazine, a Bible for college football fans, gets behind the mic. Well, that’s exactly what happened last week, when Steele stopped by WFNZ.

Before the Mac & Bone Show could get to their holiday weekend, Phil Steele joined the program last Wednesday, as he previewed the upcoming season for each local team in the Carolinas, and he talked about the chances that Clemson & NC State could compete to win the ACC, how UNC moves on from Drake Maye, and why ECU is poised to have a bounce-back season.
You can listen to the Mac & Bone Show, (Charlotte’s #1 morning show), every weekday from 6-10 AM, on Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ, and the WFNZ app.
