Johnson is leading the Panthers so far this season in catches (30), targets (58), receiving yards (357) and touchdowns (3).
In the off-season, the Panthers traded for Johnson from the Pittsburgh Steelers. He now heads back to the AFC North with the Ravens, joining two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson.
For the Panthers, the team’s wide receiver room consists of Adam Thielen, Jonathon Mingo, Xavier Legette, Jalen Coker, and David Moore.
According to Spotrac.com, Diontae Johson is in the last year of a two-year extension he signed with the Steelers before the 2023 season. With Johnson expected to be a free agent in 2025, the 1-7 Panthers went out to get as much as they could instead of letting him walk for free at the end of the season.
Carolina could make more trades this season. The NFL’s trade deadline is after Week 9 on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 4 p.m.
