CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — The Panthers signed a defensive lineman from the Giants Tuesday, a day after reportedly dealing one of stars on that side of the ball to New York.
According to the team, citing NFL Network reports, the Panthers agreed to terms with Giants defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson on a three-year deal. No deal can be official until the start of the league year on Wednesday.
The Panthers say Robinson has experience with this defensive staff from his time with the Rams, where he won a Super Bowl from the 2021 season and giving him background with coordinator Ejiro Evero. Last season, the 28-year-old recorded 62 tackles with two passes defended.
The 6-foot-4, 330-pounder entered the league as a second-round pick out of Alabama in 2016, and has appeared in 110 games, with 74 starts.
On Monday, sources say the Panthers traded linebacker Brian Burns to the Giants for two draft picks.
