CHARLOTTE (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — Rookie running back Jonathon Brooks received unfortunate news on Monday as he learned he’ll be out indefinitely after re-tearing his ACL, the team announced.
Brooks went down without contact during Sunday’s game against loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Brutal news for the Panthers stud rookie. He was quickly showing what he can bring to that running back room in limited snaps this season. https://t.co/UzUoVj7eOl

Brooks, taken in the 2nd round of the 2024 draft, played in just three games this season due to a torn ACL he suffered in college on Nov. 11, 2023. He totaled just 22 yards on only nine attempts.
Even with the injury, Brooks was a highly touted prospect from the University of Texas. In his final season, he had 1,139 yards and 10 touchdowns.
The Panthers will continue feeding Chuba Hubbard out of the backfield. He’s impressed this season with 1,011 yards and eight touchdowns. CSL’s Mike Lacett reports Mike Boone was elevated while the team waits for Raheem Blackshear to recover from his injury (chest).
