(WGHP) — High Point native Adrian Wilson, the former Carolina Panthers vice president of player personnel, was arrested last month on three domestic violence-related charges, The Athletic reports.
Wilson, 44, was arrested on June 1 around 6 a.m. at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona. On Sunday, the Panthers confirmed that he was not employed by the team.
He has been charged with:
- misdemeanor assault
- misdemeanor criminal damage
- misdemeanor disorderly conduct
He had been with the Panthers since Feb. 2023.
He first gained recognition as a football player in high school before going to N.C. State University.
In 2001, He was the Arizona Cardinals’ third-round pick. Wilson played for the Cardinals for 12 years, making five Pro Bowls. He was a 2009 All-Pro selection and became a member of the Cardinals Ring of Honor in 2015.
The Panthers released the following statement on Sunday:
Adrian Wilson will not continue in his position as Vice President of Player Personnel for the Carolina Panthers. Consistent with our organizational policy on employee matters, we will have no further comment.
