CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — The Panthers are letting go of veteran running back Miles Sanders ahead of the 2025 season.
Sanders spent the last two seasons with the Panthers after signing as a free agent in 2023. Throughout his time in Carolina, Sanders had 184 carries for 637 yards and three touchdowns, along with 52 catches for 302 yards and a touchdown.
Since then, Chuba Hubbard has taken over as the starting running back and was given a long-term contract extension in November, and he deserved every penny. Despite missing the last two games of the season due to a calf injury, Hubbard still finished top 10 in the NFL in rushing yards (1,195- career high), yards per game (79.7- career high), and yards per carry (4.8).
The Panthers also used its 2024 2nd round draft pick on Texas running back Jonathon Brooks, who unfortunately tore his ACL for the 2nd time in 13 months in December in just his third game of the season.
