We don’t overreact to Week 1, but we do react.
After much hot air was passed in the offseason about building around Bryce Young and Dave Canales being a quarterback whisperer, we were promptly treated with a different and colder reality in the Carolina Panthers Week 1 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
About the only unequivocal bright side is that the Saints walked away with an inflated ego that will surely get punctured somewhere down the line.
In our efforts to differentiate ourselves from the Saints fanbase we are maintaining a strict policy of not over reacting to Week 1 football. How many times have we seen Sam Darnold, the All Pro, in Week 1 before getting stuck with the Sam Darnold “What was that throw?” Variety Hour by Week 4?
The point is that things change within a season. We don’t over react to Week 1, but we do react. So this week we’re asking you about your confidence in the direction of the team, how many wins you are expecting in the wake of Week 1’s loss both to the Saints and of Derrick Brown for potentially the season, and whether or not you expect Bryce Young to demonstrate a step forward in just one more week.
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Carolina Panthers fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
