CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — The Panthers re-signed versatile offensive lineman Brady Christensen, the team announced Tuesday.
The 28-year-old Christensen started games at left tackle and center last season, after also lining up at guard earlier in his career. He taken by Carolina in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
“Brady is well versed at every position,” offensive coordinator Brad Idzik told media last year. “Brady soaked it all up with the understanding of how all the pieces fit because he’s literally played outside in every spot. So, really hats off to Brady, playing center and being able to communicate these things, get us all on the same page.”
Carolina agreed to terms for center Austin Corbett last Saturday, a day after retaining backup center Cade Mays with a restricted free agent tender.
ESPN is reporting that the deal is for one year and $2.78 million.
The Panthers were second to last in the NFL in passing yards last season, but they tied for 16th in passing touchdowns.
So far in free agency, the team has targeted not only keeping offensive lineman, but also finding new players for the defensive line.
