(QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton was in a car accident in south Charlotte Tuesday afternoon, a team spokesperson confirmed with Queen City News.
The spokesperson said Dalton, 36, was driving westbound on Sardis Road approaching Providence Road when the accident occurred. His wife, three children and his dog also were in the car; however, no one from Dalton’s family was reportedly transported by Medic personnel.
Dalton is being evaluated by team medical personnel.
Dalton became the starting quarterback in week three against the Raiders, leading the Panthers to their first win of the season. But the team has gone 0-4 since. He’s thrown for seven touchdowns and six interceptions this season.
Ten years ago, then-Panthers QB Cam Newton also was in a car accident in uptown, injuring his back.
