The Panthers signed a 2021 first round cornerback to the practice squad in a move that boasts low-risk, high-reward potential.

Transactions
Signed CB Caleb Farley to the practice squad. Farley was the No. 22 overall pick in the 2021 draft, taken in the first round by the Tennessee Titans. But injuries have derailed his career and he has appeared in just 12 career games and missed the entire 2023 season. It’s rare that a player this young with such a high draft pedigree comes available for a practice squad, so it’s worth the exercise for the Panthers to see what he can do.
Signed LB Chandler Wooten to the active roster. The 2022 UDFA appeared in 17 games for the Panthers between 2022 and 2023. During his time in Carolina he has played 47 defensive snaps and 322 special teams snaps with nine career tackles, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. He’s looking to get his first action in 2024 after being called up to the active roster.
Signed LB Jackson Mitchell to the practice squad. The 2024 UDFA has bounced around between the Panthers and the Las Vegas Raiders so far this year. He’s now back in Carolina.
Signed TE Stephen Sullivan to the practice squad. After being released earlier this year with an injury settlement, Sullivan is back with the Panthers. The fifth-year pro has appeared in 25 games over the last two seasons for the Panthers.
Signed WR Deven Thompkins to the practice squad. The diminutive 5-foot-8 receiver joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022 as a UDFA. In two seasons with the Bucs he appeared in 22 games with 22 receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown.
