PHILADELPHIA, PA. (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — Despite leading for the majority of the game, the Panthers have another close loss against the division-leading Eagles.
Final: 22 to 16
The Panthers’ defense shut out the Eagles in the first quarter. Nothing too exciting from either team as there was only a combined 120 yards of offense. However, on his first carry late in the quarter, rookie Jonathon Brooks went down with a knee injury and had to be carted off. The team listed him as doubtful to return a few minutes later.
That same drive, Eddy Pineiro made a 38-yard field goal for the only points of the quarter.
The Eagles responded quickly with a 10-play, 70-yard drive that ended in a patented Jalen Hurts ‘tush push.’ The Panthers, on its next possession, put together possibly its best drive of the season so far. 14 plays and almost eight minutes later, Bryce Young hit Tommy Tremble for a three-yard score to go up 10-7 with four minutes left in the half.
