CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — The Panthers reportedly added three defensive lineman Monday to address a glaring need.
According to multiple reports, including from NFL Network, the Panthers agreed to terms on a three-year deal with Rams defensive tackle Bobby Brown III.
The 24-year-old Brown started 16 games for Los Angeles last year, with 44 tackles and four tackles for loss. The Panthers were last in the NFL last year with 179.8 rushing yards allowed per game and total touchdowns allowed (35).
Originally a fourth-round pick out of Texas A&M, he’s started 30 games over the last two seasons.
No deals can be official until the league year begins Wednesday at 4 p.m.
The Panthers also bolstered the defensive line by adding Patrick Jones II, the NFL Network reported.
The 26-year-old Jones is a defensive end who had seven sacks for the Vikings last year. The Panthers were tied for 29th in the league with 32 total sacks.
Monday evening, the Panthers reportedly agreed to terms with Chiefs defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton. Wharton, 26, had 6.5 sacks last year for the NFC champions, and has 13.5 in 72 career games.
The defensive line additions makes five on that side of the ball reported Monday. In additoin to the re-signing of cornerback Jaycee Horn, reports also say Carolina also agreed to terms with Raiders safety Tre’Von Moehrig.
