CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Panthers may be on a three-game losing streak, but spirits are high surrounding the team heading into Sunday’s game against the Cowboys.
All three of the losses have been decided in the games’ final minutes, or in overtime like against the Buccaneers Dec. 1. And they’ve been against teams leading their respective divisions.
In that stretch, quarterback Bryce Young is averaging 251 passing yards with a total of three touchdowns and only one interception.
With this string of exciting games, Carolina (3-10) is in a position it hasn’t been in since 2022: It’s favored to win. Betting services list the Black & Blue as either 2.5- or 3-point favorites against 5-8 Dallas. They opened as 6.5-point favorites.
The last time the Panthers were favored was against the Steelers on Dec. 18, 2022, a game Pittsburgh won 24-16. It was when Carolina had Sam Darnold at quarterback and Steve Wilks as an interim head coach.
Since then, the Panthers are on their third head coach and have gone 7-26 – all as Vegas underdogs.
Carolina hosts the Cowboys Sunday at 1 p.m. on Fox Charlotte.
