CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — The Carolina Panthers added former Vikings cornerback Akayleb Evans off waivers Monday.
The team said to make room on the roster, it also waived veteran outside linebacker Charles Harris.
The 6-foot-2 Evans was a fourth-round pick out of Missouri in the 2022 NFL Draft. He was waived on Saturday.
He has only played three snaps on defense this season while mostly playing on special teams. He was listed on the Vikings’ injury report for their Oct. 27 and Nov. 3 games.
The Panthers rank 22nd in the NFL in passing yards allowed at 2,608, giving up 7.6 yards per attempt.
The 29-year-old Harris had three sacks in nine games this season, but his playing time dwindled upon the return of D.J. Wonnum. Had had one tackle in Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs.
