We’re counting down the days until the Panthers kick off the 2024 season.
Football season is starting to feel real now. The Carolina Panthers just played their first preseason game, and now there are only 30 days left til the regular season kicks off. That means today’s countdown piece features #30, running back Chuba Hubbard.
Hubbard has gradually worked his way into the good graces of Panthers fans. His first season or two were marred by stone hands and poor passing game production. However, his rushing game production has become respectable. He was efficient in the Panthers ground and pound offense under interim head coach Steve Wilks in 2022. He wasn’t as efficient in 2023, but none of the Panthers offense worked. He was far and away the best back on the team over free agent signing Miles Sanders.
Hubbard has been a relatively average back through three seasons, but his trajectory is good. He’ll try to build off last season and become a three down back under new head coach Dave Canales.
And we’ll end this profile with a CSR exclusive. Inside sources tell me that Hubbard’s go to order at a local Japanese restaurant is beef egg noodles with no vegetables and a side of teriyaki steak sticks. That’s a lot of protein. That’s how you get strong.
