We’re counting down the days until the Panthers kick off the 2024 season.
We’re officially 12 days away from the Carolina Panthers kicking off the 2024 NFL season against the New Orleans Saints. That’s less than two weeks away! It will be their second consecutive road opener. Now it’s time for our annual roster countdown to highlight the players on the Panthers’ roster. Today, we’re taking a closer look at the player wearing the the No. 12 jersey— wide receiver Sam Pinckney.
Pinckney is an undrafted free agent rookie out of Coast Carolina University who is a candidate for the Panthers practice squad. The team’s receiver depth is, finally, sufficiently deep that UDFAs with one catch in the preseason are not going to make the final roster.
He is a big bodied wide receiver who is lacking in top end speed. His selling point is as a contested catch specialist. Combined with his big body, that could make him an enticing red zone option to spin the tires on while he spends a year or two on the practice squad.
How about it Panthers fans, what are you hoping to see from Pinckney this season? Do you think he’ll still be on the roster by the time this publishes? Scroll on down to the comments and share your thoughts with us!
