CHARLOTTE (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — With all due respect to Republicans and Democrats, there’s an even greater divide happening in our country right now.
It’s those in the media who love Panthers quarterback Bryce Young and those working in the same field who don’t. And chances are if you live outside the Queen City, there’s a good chance you have a different opinion.
“I am still very bullish on Bryce Young,” said NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano. “I still think he could be the guy.”
Siciliano isn’t alone. Anytime I turned on a national sports channel over the last year, it always seemed like there was someone signing Young’s praises. And here in Indianapolis at the combine, it was more or less the same.
“It’s a simple reality,” said Football Night in America’s Mike Florio. “There isn’t enough of a sample size to make any sweeping conclusions about Bryce Young.”

Which then begs the question, have media members in Charlotte jumped the gun on the team’s former number-one pick? Are we too close to the action to see the bigger picture? Despite Carolina’s league-worst 2-15 season, Siciliano seems to think so.
“There was a lot to love from Bryce coming out of college,” Siciliano said. “It was not as if Carolina Panthers were the only team that decided he was the best quarterback in the draft.”
In Florio’s eyes, it’s a question of when, not if Young turns the corner. And here’s the most important thing he says to remember: Despite all the changes they made in the off-season, David Tepper remains in charge.
“The guy who wanted him last year is still there and he owns the team,” said Florio.
Which is why Florio believes Young will remain QB one for the foreseeable future.
Time is on his side, and more importantly for the former Heisman trophy winner, so is the guy who signs the checks.
