Before this Sunday’s matchup against the Falcons, the Panthers find themselves with a 1-4 record with many unanswered questions surrounding the team. Mike Kaye of the Charlotte Observer joined Kyle Bailey as he broke down the Panthers current situation and if some big moves could be on the horizon with the trade deadline looming.
The first topic covered the loss to the Bears and how the defense struggled as Mike, unfortunately, thinks the run defense can’t be fixed partly because of talent and injuries and the scheme not changing that much from last year. Mike did note that the defense as a whole could get some help overall down the line with guys like D.J. Wonnum and Dane Jackson nearing a return, but the schedule isn’t getting any easier.
Mike would go on to break down the Panthers options for the trade deadline, as well as if the O-Line can continue to play well moving forward with some key injuries.
