Mike Kaye Breaks Down The Panthers Trading Diontae Johnson

With the NFL Trade Deadline looming, the Panthers decided to make a move as they traded away WR Diontae Johnson and a 6th-round pick to the Ravens with a 5th-round pick coming back to Carolina. Mike Kaye of the Charlotte Observer joined Kyle Bailey as he went into all the aspects surrounding the decision for Carolina to trade away their leading receiver.

When it came to the trade of Diontae Johnson, Mike told Kyle that this deal made it clear that Diontae Johnson was not staying past this year and you couldn’t get as much for him in part because it is essentially a rental Mike also noted that this deal sends the message that Carolina just wanted to get him out of the door.

Mike also weighed in on if the Panthers could trade away more players before next Tuesday’s deadline, and if Bryce will start again on Sunday.
