There’s no question that many folks believe the Carolina Panthers should be considering University of Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker as their upcoming first-round pick. But there is a question as to where the versatile defender would play in the NFL.
Carolina’s president of football operations and general manager Dan Morgan talked about Walker following his podium time at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday. And Morgan, a former linebacker himself, chose not to tip his hand too much.
“Yeah, I don’t know how most teams see him,” he stated of Walker, who could be used as an off-ball linebacker or pass rusher. “I know he’s a talented player, there’s a lot of talented players in this draft. He’s just one of many.”
Morgan was then asked where he’d have Walker listed.
“I’m gonna kinda keep that close to the vest right now,” he replied. “But he’s a good player.”
Walker, a Salisbury, N.C. native, played three seasons for the Bulldogs. He will enter the NFL as a national champion, a Butkus Award winner and a first-team All-American.
