We now have an idea as to why Adrian Wilson is no longer the vice president of player personnel for the Carolina Panthers.
Wilson was recently arrested on three charges of domestic violence, per the Scottsdale Police Department. He was also charged for damaging property and disorderly conduct.
Police records show that Wilson posted bond on June 1. The Panthers confirmed just a few days ago that Wilson was no longer part of their front office.
“Adrian Wilson will not continue in his position as Vice President of Player Personnel for the Carolina Panthers,” a team spokesperson told Pro Football Talk. “Consistent with our organizational policy on employee matters, we will have no further comment.”
Wilson, a former All-Pro safety, played in the NFL from 2001-2014. He spent the majority of his career with the Arizonas Cardinals.
After spending a few years as a regional scout, the Cardinals named Wilson their director of pro scouting in 2019. He was then promoted to vice president of pro scouting.
Prior to becoming the VP of player personnel in Carolina, Wilson interviewed for the New York Giants’ general manager job.
Wilson has a court date set for July 16. It’s too early to tell if he’ll ever get another chance to work in an NFL front office.
