The 89th edition of The Masters was one for the record books as it saw Rory McIlroy win his first Masters and completing only the 6th golfer to complete the Major Grand Slam. Former 2-time US Open Champion Curtis Strange joined Kyle Bailey to recap the historic weekend in Augusta.
When it came to the playoff hole between Rory and Justin Rose, Curtis said the biggest key was when Rory’s caddie calmed him down and got him to focus, which was needed for Rory after a crucial bogey on 18. Kyle then asked Curtis what this win does for Rory’s legacy Curtis pointed out that since he is one of only 6 golfers to accomplish the major grand slam, it cements his legacy at this point, and he has a chance to grow his legacy moving forward.
Curtis would go on to weigh in on Bryson DeChambeau’s comments about Rory after Sunday’s round and give an early preview of the PGA Championship next month at Quail Hollow.
