Despite widespread speculation that the Carolina Panthers might trade down, the team stayed put.
Panthers selected Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan with the eighth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The 6-foot-4, 219-pound standout becomes the second wide receiver Carolina has taken in the first round in back-to-back years, following Xavier Legette, who was picked 32nd overall in 2024.
McMillan, a Waimānalo, Hawaii native, had a record-setting career at Arizona. In three seasons, he became the program’s all-time leader in receiving yards with 3,423, while ranking third in touchdowns (26) and fourth in receptions (213). He earned consensus All-American honors in 2024 and was a first-team All-Big 12 selection.
Last season, McMillan was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award after finishing with 1,319 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. A former star at Servite High School in California, he entered college as the highest-rated recruit in Arizona history.
