Welcome back to Thursday Night Football
The 2-4 New Orleans Saints are hosting the 3-3 Denver Broncos tonight on Thursday Night Football. The Saints came out of the gates hot with two big wins against what turned out to be terrible Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys teams. They haven’t won a game since. The Broncos, under former New Orleans coach Sean Payton, have been finding their own footing and are the hot team coming into this match up. At least, they’re the ‘hot team’ if you had to pick one of them as hot. All Thursday night games kick off at 8:15 ET on Prime Video.
As always in our brave new world of expansive sports gambling, it is now easier to bet on games than to watch them. You can catch current odds on all NFL games for Week 5 here on FanDuel.
To be clear, neither team in this game tonight is good. Neither of them is going to look better for playing unfamiliar teams on short rest. This is a classic, Thursday Night Football quality product that most of us will only watch because it is on.
I’m giving the edge this week to the team that is healthier and happier. That’s why I am picking the Denver Broncos to win tonight. The Saints morale is low after the wheels feel off their offense, and they are threatening to play this game without Derek Carr. Two of his top targets in Rahid Shaheed and Chris Olave have already been ruled out.
Taysom Hill can’t win a whole game by himself.
As always, use this space to talk about the action as it unfolds.
You know the drill.
This is now an open thread!
