It’s the time of the year when college hoops step into the spotlight, and become the focus for many sports fans around the country, now that the Super Bowl is set, and March is just over a month away. For many casual fans, the season officially begins whenever the first Duke-UNC game takes place, and that happens to be this Saturday, with the first matchup between the two schools, taking place in Durham. Duke won last night against fellow Triangle opponent NC State, while UNC is on the road tonight at Pittsburgh, in a big game for UNC’s NCAA Tournament credentials.

Earlier this morning, Mac & Bone began to look ahead at Saturday’s game, and other big games involving the Triangle schools, and along the way they were joined by Brian Rauf, who is a senior writer for Heat Check CBB, as he talked about the concerns that have come about Duke over the last couple of games, what UNC needs to do to secure themselves as an NCAA Tournament team, the relationship that NC State fans have with Kevin Keatts, and more, as start the back half of ACC play this weekend.
You can listen to the Mac & Bone Show (Charlotte’s #1 morning show), every weekday from 6-10 AM, on Sports Radio 92.7 WFNZ, or the WFNZ app.
