Welcome to Monday Night Football
The AFC East is getting the primetime treatment tonight on ESPN’s Monday Night Football at 8:15 ET. The 2-3 New York Jets are hosting the 3-2 Buffalo Bills amidst a whirlwind of their own turmoil. They fired their head coach and demoted their offensive coordinator last week. All of that in the hopes that it reboots Aaron Rodgers as a sub-40 year old quarterback.
As always in our brave new world of expansive sports gambling, it is now easier to bet on games than to watch them. You can catch current odds on all NFL games for Week 4 here on FanDuel.
The truth of the matter is that, while the Bills have struggled a bit to start the season, the Jets are in no position to be picking up wins against half-way decently coached teams. That’s why I’m picking the Buffalo Bills.
Maybe the Jets come out firing on all cylinders, with everybody playing for the jobs, but fans of the Carolina Panthers know better than anybody that interim coaches who win at all, let alone out of the gate, are few and far between. We can wish luck to Jeff Ulbrich, the Jets erstwhile defensive coordinator, but let’s not go throwing money down the drain in his name.
As always, use this space to talk about the action as it unfolds.
You know the drill.
This is now an open thread!
