Welcome back to Thursday Night Football
Thursday Night Football is back and better than ever this season, by which I mean they aren’t forcing every team to play one Thursday Night game. The Carolina Panthers will be absent from the series this season, as well as from all primetime games. Teams like the Baltimore Ravens, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cleveland Browns, the Los Angeles Rams, the New York Jets, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Seattle Seahawks, meanwhile, are all playing two Thursday games this season. All Thursday night games kick off at 8:15 ET on Prime Video.
As always in our brave new world of expansive sports gambling, it is now easier to bet on games than to watch them. You can catch current odds on all NFL games for Week 1 here on FanDuel.
As for the game tonight, two AFC East power houses are trying to take an early advantage in the playoff race. Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills versus Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins is an enticing matchup. Both teams struggled in the first half of their season openers before bouncing back to seal the win in the second half.
This game could easily go either way off of one errant bounce of the football. Or, one of these teams could make a big statement that they are going to be the challengers to the Kansas City Chiefs’ throne. It’s too early in the season to tell for sure, but this is the kind of game where those statements can be made. That’s why I’m picking the Miami Dolphins. When push comes to shove, stick with the home team.
As always, use this space to talk about the action as it unfolds.
You know the drill.
This is now an open thread!
