CHARLOTTE (BLACK & BLUE KICKOFF LIVE) — How far will Andy Dalton take the Panthers? A big test awaits in Week 4 as he faces the team that drafted him 13 years ago- the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Panthers’ offense was nothing short of explosive in Week 3. Andy Dalton, Chuba Hubbard and Diontae Johnson all ranked top 5 in passing yards, rushing yards and receiving yards, respectively. The team scored 36 points which was the second most scored all week, only behind the Commanders who scored 38 points in Cincinnati on Monday Night Football.
The Panthers’ offense could definitely have another big game if the Bengals’ defense doesn’t turn it around.
The Panthers’ defense might be where the game is won and lost. Carolina has given up at least 21 points in every game this season, and the Bengals’ offense can pack a punch with QB Joe Burrow and WR Ja’Marr Chase. Cincinnati’s offense ranks top 10 in completion percentage, passing yards and passing touchdowns.
The two teams come into this game deadlocked through seven all-time meetings- three wins, three losses, one tie. The last game was in 2022 where the Bengals won 42-21.
Carolina and Cincinnati each call themselves the Queen City, but only one can come out victorious. Sunday’s game from Bank of America Stadium starts at 1 p.m. on FOX Charlotte.
