The Canes have another slow start and end up with a loss in Nashville.
The Carolina Hurricanes were outshot and outscored the first two periods and ended up losing to the Nashville Predators, 5-2 on Monday night in Nashville.
The star players for the Preds contributed to their success in this one.
After two periods, the Canes were down 2-0, but the home team scored two more goals early in the third to make the score 4-0.
Carolina finally started to ratchet up their intensity and controlled most of the third period after that.
Jordan Staal would get on the scoreboard off a nice pass from Jordan Martinook. It was Staal’s 4rth of the season.
Just 40 seconds later, Sebastian Aho got a pass from Seth Jarvis and knocked it in. It was Aho’s 11th.
At that time, it seemed like the Hurricanes were cooking, but that would be the end of their scoring.
The Preds knocked in an empty-netter to close it out.
The Canes will have a couple of days off and will next face the Devils for a back-to-back starting on Friday night.
