A quick look at some Hurricanes news
The Canes are off until Thursday night when they play San Jose. They have had two optional practices with minimal participation on Monday and Tuesday.
Since things are pretty quiet, I thought I would look for some related news.
First of all, “The Athletic” ran a feature ranking all the owners of the league. This compilation was different than the ranking listed earlier which was from the opinions of agents. Dundon did not fare well in that survey.
For this article, James Myrtle asked for the opinions of readers. Dundon finished at #10.

According to LeBrun, the Canes have not given up on Mitch Marner. There are some other interesting names mentioned here as well.

We knew going into the season that Carolina had the overall depth to be one of the NHL’s best squads. But like all teams, the Hurricanes aren’t perfect. And if they do get flushed out of the first or second round of this year’s playoffs due to their goaltending, no one can say they didn’t see it coming.
During all the hoopla on trade deadline day, we did not give proper recognition to some of the new players. Here are copies of the team’s news release for each player.

RALEIGH, NC – Eric Tulsky, General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has acquired center Logan Stankoven, first round picks in 2026 and 2028 and third-round selections in 2026 and 2027 from the Dallas Stars in exchange for forward Mikko Rantanen.
