Canes look to win their fifth in a row
The Carolina Hurricanes (38-22-4) host the Tampa Bay Lightning (37-22-4) tonight at the Lenovo Center. The game will be televised by ESPN+ and Hulu starting at 7:30 P.M.
The Canes did not have a morning skate but it is expected that Pyotr Kochetkov will take his turn in the goalie rotation tonight.
Kochetkov is 8-2-2 in his last 12 starts.
Carolina will be battling for their fifth straight win. They are 6-4-0 in their last 10 games.
Newcomers Mark Jankowski and Logan Stankoven will look to build on their success from their last game where Jankowski scored two goals and Stankoven added one.
There is no update regarding Andrei Svechnikov and Dmitri Orlov, who are battling injuries.
The Lightning are currently third in the Atlantic Division and they are 8-2-0 in their last 10.
This will be a homecoming of sorts for Jake Guentzel, who chose to sign with Tampa Bay versus Carolina last offseason. Guentzel has 63 points in 62 games this season.
They are led by Nikita Kucherov who has 92 points in 60 games. Brandon Hagel and Brayden Point have 70 and 65 points respectively.
The Canes are led by Sebastian Aho with 61 points and Seth Jarvis with 48.
I would expect to see Andrei Vasilevskiy in net tonight for the Lightning. The netminder has won 30 games again this season.
The team’s preview is next.
