Tough night of “bad bounces” for Carolina
The Carolina Hurricanes jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but the Los Angeles Kings would score three straight and went on the defeat the Canes, 4-2 at the Lenovo Center on Saturday night.
Andrei Svechnikov did not play because of an “upper body injury” but most of the other regulars played in this game, whether they were 100% or not.
Jesperi Kotkaniemi started things off when he tipped in a Sean Walker shot to make it 1-0.
The center now has six points in his last six games.
Los Angeles would tie the score before the end of the period.
In the second, the Kings scored twice more as Carolina managed only six shots on goal for the period.
The Canes got some juice when Brent Burns found Eric Robinson, who broke in alone to beat Darcy Kuemper. But that would be it for Carolina.
Kevin Fiala beat Frederik Andersen for the second time to make the score 4-2 which for all intent, ended things.
The Hurricanes will take Sunday off before they fly to Winnipeg for a game on Tuesday night.
