Canes try to stay ahead of Devils
The Carolina Hurricanes (33-20-4) will take on the Montreal Canadiens (26-26-5) tonight in Montreal with puck drop at 7 P.M.
The game will be televised by the FanDuel Sports Network.
The Canes have a 5-4-1 record in their last 10 games, but have lost four out their last five, of course including games before their two week break.
At the morning skate, Frederik Andersen was the first goalie off the ice and should start in net for Carolina.
Apparently, Rod Brind’Amour was experimenting with lines at the morning skate.
Rod Brind’Amour was “trying some things out” at morning skate in Montreal, but says the #Canes aren’t sure what they’re going to do yet with their line combinations for tonight’s game against the Canadiens.

The head coach rarely sticks with the same lines during the course of a game anyway, but these lines are certainly interesting.
Don’t look now, but the Canes are currently tied with New Jersey for second place in the Met with 70 points. They officially hold onto second place for the moment though because of two games in hand and a better record by percentage points.
The Habs are desperately trying to make a wild card spot and will be amped up tonight. They are coming off a win over Ottawa, but they are 2-7-1 over their last 10.
They are led by Cole Caufield, who has 27 goals so far this season.
