RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Round One of playoff tickets for the Carolina Hurricanes are now on sale.
The Canes will face the New Jersey Devils on April 19 at the Lenovo Center.
Fans like Jerry and Brenda Schafer can’t wait.
“We love the Canes. We love the team, we love it from the manager right down to the player, it’s a great organization,” said Jerry.
They came to the Hurricanes pro shop, The Eye, to look for gifts for family members.
“We’ve got grandnieces and nephews. One lives in New York, and one lives in St. Louis and we’re trying to diversify their allegiance,” said Branda.
Ahead of tickets going on sale to the general public, employees at The Eye spent time putting out new playoff merchandise.
For the Schafers playoff season is their favorite time of the year.
“There’s nothing better than playoff hockey. I mean, regular seasons are great but playoff hockey is the best. Everyone plays at a whole nother level, it’s action packed, it’s fast, it’s physical. It’s a great experience,” said Jerry.
Before the Canes face the Devils the team will play the Washington Capitols tonight.
The Canes are hoping to lock up home ice for the first round of the series with a win tonight. The Schafers say they’re hoping for the same.
“We’ve already committed for the whole season for the playoffs so we’re hoping to go very far with this,” said Brenda.
Both Carolina and New Jersey are going head-to-head in the playoffs for the sixth time.
They most recently met in the postseason during the spring of 2023.
