RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The Carolina Hurricanes host the Washington Capitals after Seth Jarvis’ two-goal game against the New York Islanders in the Hurricanes’ 6-4 win.
Carolina has won 11 of 13 and has a strong hold on second place in the Metropolitan Division and home-ice in the first round of the playoffs. The Hurricanes trail first-place Washington by nine points, and lead third-place New Jersey by nine.
Washington has a 48-17-9 record overall and a 15-4-0 record in Metropolitan Division play. The Capitals have a 45-2-6 record when scoring three or more goals.
Carolina and Washington meet Wednesday for the third time this season. The Capitals won the previous matchup, 3-1.
In their previous game, the Hurricanes’ Seth Jarvis scored twice, and Sebastian Aho had a goal and two assists, as they beat the New York Islanders 6-4 on Sunday. Dmitry Orlov, Mark Jankowski and Logan Stankoven also scored for Carolina, giving them two straight wins.
The puck drops at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Lenovo Center.
