RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – One of the best players for the Carolina Hurricanes will be forced to sit out for the foreseeable future due to injury.
The Hurricanes placed forward Seth Jarvis on injured reserve with an upper-body injury, the team announced Saturday.
Jarvis has been out of the lineup since the Hurricanes lost to the Colorado Avalanche on Nov. 9.
His placement on injury reserve is retroactive to Nov. 10, one day after the last time he played.
The 22-year-old forward has proven to be one of the most productive players for Carolina this season, scoring four goals and dishing out seven assists in 13 games. Despite missing the last two games, he still ranks fourth on the team in scoring.
Jarvis, who signed an eight-year, $63.2 million deal over the offseason, posted 33 goals and 67 points during the 2023-24 season, marking career highs in both categories.
Carolina is set to play without its star forward during a back-to-back slate, as the Hurricanes host the Ottawa Senators and the St. Louis Blues on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
