The Charlotte Hornets already rough season continued to get a little rougher on Thursday. Charlotte lost guard Terry Rozier III and wing Kelly Oubre Jr. to injuries during the team’s loss at the New Orleans Pelicans.
Rozier exited the game in the first half due to right foot soreness. Oubre also left the game in the first half, leaving due to a right shoulder strain. Neither player returned for the second half.
In addition to losing Rozier and Oubre, the Hornets were without backup guard Dennis Smith Jr. for most of the second half. Smith left the game in the third quarter due to an illness.
The Hornets started the game without starters LaMelo Ball, Mark Williams and reserves Cody Martin, James Bouknight and Theo Maledon. That left Charlotte head coach with only seven healthy players to finish the game.
