CHARLOTTE (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — The Charlotte Hornets have traded two players on Thursday and snagged a first-round draft pick, according to a league source.
Hornets traded one of their veteran players, Forward Gordon Hayward, to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The trade was in exchange for forward Davis Bertans, guard Tre Mann, point guard Vasilije Micic, and two second-round picks in 2024 and 2025, sources confirmed.
The second player traded away Thursday was P.J. Washington to the Dallas Mavericks for Grant Williams, Seth Curry, and a 2027 first-round draft pick in Thursday’s deal.
Hayward, 33, has more than 13 years of experience and was the No. 9 pick in round one of the 2010 NBA Draft. Charlotte Hornets reports that Hayward averages 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game.
Washington, 25, has more than four years of experience and was the No. 12 pick in round one in the 2019 NBA Draft. Charlotte Hornets reports that Washington averages 13.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.
Hayward remained out for Wednesday’s game against the Raptors due to an ongoing calf issue.
