CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Hornets will be at home for just two of their five preseason games this fall.
The announcement comes as they prepare for the first season under new head coach Charles Lee. Last year Charlotte played just four preseason games, going 1-3.
The Hornets open the preseason slate Oct. 6 at home against the Knicks, followed two days later when they host the Heat. Both games are at the Spectrum Center.
The team then hits the road for the final three exhibition contests. They travel to Memphis Oct. 10, New York Oct. 15 and Indiana Oct. 17.
All five preseason games will be broadcast on WFNZ (92.7 FM), the team’s flagship radio station, and the radio broadcast will also be streamed live on the Hornets App. A local television schedule for will be announced at a later date.
The franchise is coming off a successful Summer League run, going 7-2 across games in Las Vegas and California with its modified roster.
In addition to drafted rookies Tidjane Salaun and KJ Simpson, the Hornets have since added Josh Green, Moussa Diabate and Taj Gibson.
