(CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — The Hornets landed shooting guard Josh Green as part of a trade involving former All-Star Klay Thompson Monday.
League sources confirmed to Charlotte Sports Live that Charlotte acquired Green from the Dallas Mavericks. The Western Conference champions received Thompson as the marquee piece of the multi-team deal. ESPN first reported the move.
Last season, the 6-foot-5 Green averaged 8.2 points per game on 48 percent shooting, 3.2 rebounds and a career-high 2.3 assists coming off the bench. The 23-year-old from Australia has spent all four of his seasons with Dallas.
Thompson joins Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving after a decorated tenure with the Warriors. After the trade, the “Splash Brother” signed a three-year, $50 million contract.
This is the second trade the Hornets have been a part of since last week’s draft, also landing Reggie Jackson from the Nuggets.
